School Holiday Street Art Workshop
Have you ever wanted to create your own piece of street art? These holiday workshops offer an exclusive chance to learn a variety of spray-painting techniques from a renowned street artist at the famous Blender Studios. Spray paint is a challenging medium to work with, and an artist guides participants through all the insider tricks of the trade.
Suits ages 10+ years. All materials, protective gear plus light snacks are provided.
There are two workshops available, both approximately two-hours:
Freehand Street Art (3, 4, 5, 10 & 11 April)
Learn the correct spray-painting techniques from one of the artists demonstrating and then create your own designs and a final masterpiece on a 90x90cm board.
Make your Own Stencil Street Art (3 & 9 April)
You'll develop your own design, turn it into a stencil and cut it out. The group will get a street art demonstration and learn how to use spray paint before creating a final stencil piece on a canvas that you can take home.

Rififi: Jean Jullien for Kids
The children’s gallery at the NGV is transformed into an underwater world inspired by art, having fun and caring for the environment – a sea adventure that welcomes the youngest and oldest of visitors. This enchanting installation is the creation of French artist Jean Jullien, who has made the work, titled RIFIFI: Jean Jullien for Kids, especially for the NGV Triennial 2023.
Jean Jullien expresses his ideas and ways of seeing the world often through a lens of humour and playfulness. His graphic style is a bold and immediate interpretation of our surroundings, and his works are often drawn with a brushy black line combined with a single solid colour, which results in vibrant, eye-catching imagery.

Amaze Richmond
The challenge in the Hedge Maze is not just finding your way out, but discovering all 31 of the native Tasmanian animals hidden throughout the many winding paths of the multi-cursal maze. The hedge is grown from pittosporum and took over 6 years to reach the current height of more than two metres. Our Head Hedge Horticulturalist – Chris – spends days pruning and tending the hedge every season to ensure it is in tip-top condition.
